1. Chemical Information

Poly(glycidyl methacrylate) (PGMA) is a functional acrylic polymer with pendant reactive epoxy groups. The product is synthesized by polymerization of glycidyl methacrylate monomers, featuring high reactivity and excellent polymer compatibility.

Functional Group: Glycidyl oxirane (epoxy group)

Appearance: White free-flowing powder

Epoxy Equivalent (EEW): 280 ~ 360 g/eq

Weight Average Molecular Weight (Mw): 40,000 – 80,000 g/mol

Number Average Molecular Weight (Mn): 20,000 – 42,000 g/mol

Polydispersity Index (PDI): ≤1.9

Glass Transition Temperature (Tg): 42 ~ 48 ℃

Moisture Content: ≤0.5 wt%

Solubility: Soluble in THF, Acetone, DMF and Methyl Ethyl Ketone; Insoluble in water and aliphatic hydrocarbons.


3. Key Characteristics

High molecular weight structure provides outstanding chain extension and modification performance. The reactive epoxy side chains can efficiently react with carboxyl (-COOH), hydroxyl (-OH) and amine (-NH₂) groups of polymer materials.

This PGMA powder features low yellowing, excellent thermal stability and wide compatibility with PLA, PBAT, polyester and acrylic polymers. Strict production control ensures narrow molecular weight distribution and stable batch-to-batch consistency for industrial continuous production.


4. Main Applications

- High-efficiency chain extender for PLA / PBAT biodegradable plastics

- Functional additive for PCB UV solder resist ink

- Performance modifier for powder coatings and UV curable coatings

- Compatibilizer for engineering polymer alloy blending

- High-performance additive for industrial adhesives and sealants


5. Packaging

Standard package: 25kg kraft paper bag with inner PE liner. Customized packaging solutions are available according to customer requirements.


6. Storage & Handling

Store in sealed condition, keep in cool, dry and ventilated warehouse. Avoid direct sunlight, high temperature and moisture absorption.

Recommended storage temperature: 5 – 30 ℃. Shelf life: 12 months under proper storage conditions.
